ROBO-OLYMPICS

Prizes Worth Rs 24,000

Participation type : Team (1-4 members)

Eligibility : Open to all 11th, 12th, Diploma and UG/PG students


EVENT 1 : Mecha Wars (Robo Sumo Wrestling)

1v1 Robot sumo-style wrestling match. Each team will play a match of 3 rounds. The team winning the most number of matches wins the tournament.

Specifications

1.Sumo Ring Diameter- 2.5 metre
2.Robot Dimensions Height-60cm Width-60cm Length-60cm Weight-(approx)6 to 8 kg (+- 2.5%)
3.The Robot should be controllable through a wireless controller. Modifications are allowed but should meet the above specifications.
4. Robots should be electrically self powered. No combustion engines allowed.
5. Robots should not have the capability to fly.
6. Robots should not be armed with any form of sharp objects or be able to shoot any form of projectile.
7. Participants should be prepared with all tools, batteries, chargers etc. required for the repair and maintenance of the bots. Management will not provide any of the mentioned items during the event.
8. Royal Global University is not responsible for any damage incurred to the robots during the event.

Match Rules:

1. Team should report 45mins prior to the start of the event.
2. Teams should have designated name unique from other participants.
2.Matches would be done on knockout basis.
3.One match will consist of 3 rounds of 2 minutes.
4.Winner of each round will get a maximum of 1 point each.
5.Winner would be decided on the maximum points earned during the match.
6.Points would be awarded when:
-> (a) A team legally forces the body of the opposing robot to touch the outside of the ring
-> (b) The opposing robot touches the outer ring on its own
-> (c) Opposition teams robot is permanently disarmed during the match.
7.Players can be disqualified if:
-> (a) Derogatory behaviour from the player during the match is found.
-> (b) Obstruction during the match.
-> (c) Cheating of any sort.
8.In case of technical difficulty before a match, players will get a maximum of 3 mins to sort the problem.
9.Any robot not meeting the required specifications would be disqualified.
10. Referee's decision will be considered final.

EVENT 2 : Robo Football

A 1v1 football match in which robots of each team would compete against each other.

Specifications

1.Field Length-3.5m Breadth-2.5m Goal Post : Width-75cm
2.Robot Dimensions Height-60cm Width-60cm Length-60 cm Weight-(approx) 6 to 8 kg (+- 2.5%).
3.The Robot should be controllable through a wireless controller.
4. Robots should be electrically self powered. No combustion engines allowed.

Match Rules:

1.Matches would be of knockout basis.
2.One match would consist of 2 halves, 3 mins each.
3.Winner would be selected on the basis of maximum goals scored by a player in the match.
4.In case of a draw, winner will be selected on the basis of a penalty shoot out where each player will get 3 tries. Player with maximum goals scored wins.
5.In case of a technical problem, Players can opt for a timeout of 2 mins once in a game. If the problem is not sorted in the allotted time, then the opposing team wins the match.
6.Players can be disqualified if:
-> (a) Derogatory behaviour from the player during the match is found.
-> (b) Obstruction during the match.
-> (c) Cheating of any sort.
-> (d) Robot not meeting the required specification.
7.Referees decision will be final.
